Requirements
We were asked to rework on the magazine layout design for cover page. We discussed with the customer and understood that a vast amount of work related to magazine production was in queue.
Challenge
Even though the customer had already marked his presence in the domain of magazine publishing, he was not acquainted with the standards and norms involved. The customer was also unaware of details like page flow as well as page and design plan etc. He was also clueless about different processes to follow for creating a magazine. To worsen the problem the content was inadequate and insufficient for the first issue. In addition to this, no brief was given for magazine cover design.
Solution
First of all, we held a few telephonic conversations and conferences with the client for understanding his exact and actual needs and requirements. We had to educate him about the different facets associated with magazine publishing. Though the initial required was only a front-page cover, we had to nail down other important elements like page flow and page plan along with the design plan.
Our team even went ahead to support them with their content requirement as they didn’t have good quality images. We fetched them best quality images suiting exactly to their magazine’s focus as per their preference for assuring the best and most creative magazine design.
The entire design was delivered to the client in an editable format. We gave the whole magazine the needed facelift to make it ready to be published. People with us gave vital suggestions related to promotion and advertising and allocated some pages reserved for advertising.
For the project to get completed on time, we had to scale up and assign some additional resources.
Results
The work was completed with perfection and within the stipulated time frame; the magazine found a place on the stand within weeks. Even when the circumstances were challenging, the customer stayed receptive to our suggestions. This helped us to do things in a more professional and prolific manner for him.
